palm face beauty 巴掌脸美女

The day before yesterday I watched one of the most famous Taiwanese TV programs " I guess, I guess and I guess guess guess" 我猜我猜我猜猜猜. It came out a very interesting topic which is palm face beauty. From oriental point of view small face is considered much more beautiful than big one. In some extreme cases, a girl with a face which can be measured by one palm is called palm face beauty. Here it is specified the face length is about 15~16cm. I don't know if you get an idea how long it is. But from an ruler we can esily find an reference.

It is said this type of face is specially appreciated by show business people due to the enlarging effect of camera. But I do know, as a Chinese girl, this concept is well accepted here. There are bunches of girls making any effort to reduce their faces, including operaton of cutting facial bones.

The five Taiwanese girls showed on the program have generally 1:10, if compares their face with their body. Then they were saying about their troubles, such as they can not find right size hat/helmet, sunglasses and mouth mask as the standard size is too large for them. Moreover, there is one who uses kid's size mouth mask.

Starring at those five palm face beauties on the show I felt a little bit puzzled and even not so convienced. Yeah, I know they have small faces but it doesn't represent they are beautiful girls. Needless to say, the sick and maniac things have been done by girls in order to have a small face.

Actually that show was very popular a couple of years ago, but it is not so big now. Regarding the palm sized faces, I have heard that the majority of Korean actresses have had plastic surgery to reduce their face sizes, but I don't know if this is true.

I heard same kind of things. Actually their pre-operation and post-operation photos are widely spread on the internet.
