Seven years in Tibet

I suppose the people who have never been to Tibet will not profoundly understand this movie. "Seven years in Tibet" --Brad Pitt stars in the soaring adventure and incredible true story of an Austrian prisoner of war who is transformed by his friendship with the young 14th Dalai Lama.

It is a forbidden movie in China. After I watched it, I think it just states the facts. Like the cultural revolution in the whole China, Tibet, a place where have haunted around 14 centuries' religious influence, did suffer even more than everywhere inside China. During my trip to Tibet, I was told that only the Potala palace has been preserved well due to special orders from Prime minister Zhou Enlai. Most of the temples have been destroied.

It should have been a very hard period of China history, as I already know by parents' tales: for Tibet people it should have been even harder. Specially when we consider that buddism belief lies in the blood of Tibetans. Visiting Tibet, and watching the movie after I have met the people there, had a huge impact on me as well. The young chinese like me, more than 95%, at least, are non-religious. Often we find the emptiness affording life without any belief. More and more people choose to just adore the power of money.

If I have to choose between the buddism and money, I prefer a buddism which purifies people's mind and gives more sense to life.

Here is the link of some photos I have taken in Tibet. http://photo.163.com/openalbum.php?username=gattomatto&_dir=%2F3316984
